Upgraded Annotation

After taking an image observation, the user can click on the image, followed by the blue pencil icon at the bottom, to add annotations. The annotations will use the native iOS tools instead of the previously used custom-built tools.

These changes significantly enhanced the image annotation capabilities for HeadLight users, ensuring that annotation features are now on par with those natively available on all iOS devices. Some of these capabilities are highlighted below:

• Expansive drawing capabilities including the ability to create shapes, add arrows, and a wider selection of drawing tools.
• Greater control over text size and formatting, with options to select the font type and text placement.
• Easily highlight text within an image.

Step by Step Instructions

1. Go to Journal view.
2. Create a new image observation.
3. Capture an image or select one from your device’s gallery. After the image capture is complete, you will be taken to the Journal observation view.
4. Newly created image observations will appear at the top, displaying the captured photo in the observation view.
5. To add an annotation, tap on the image.
6. Tap the Markup button in the top right corner to begin adding your annotation. The Markup icon will change to solid blue when it is active.
7. To add a text or shape annotation, tap the plus button.
8. Once you’ve finished adding the annotation, tap the Markup button again.
9. Tap “Save” to save your annotation.
10. The annotation will be saved and displayed on your photo in Journal view.

Form Status Filtering

New filtering capabilities ensure customer-specific statuses, like those on payments for example, align across the platform.

• The “Status” filter on Forms in Fieldbook now includes customer-specific custom statuses.
• Ensuring continuity priority and this work allows for Customers’ statuses to match across the HeadLight platform.
• Example: Those with custom statuses for Payments are now reflected in Fieldbook Web.
• This change applies to any customers using New Approvals Service workflows.

The way we now store media reduces the demand on your device’s memory.

Image Observation Space Usage Enhancements

• Images will now be downloaded to iOS devices in a lower resolution, which will reduce the amount of storage space used for downloaded images.
• Please note that images captured on the device will always be uploaded to the server at full resolution.

Users now have the option to toggle whether captured images and videos are saved to their device library. Previously, images were automatically downloaded to the library.

• Please note that this setting must be toggled separately for images and videos.
• This feature allows users to manage their photo and video observations better, helping to free up storage space on their devices.

Back-End Improvement – Saved Image JPEGs will be compressed to reduce their size.

• Syncing images with the server will be considerably faster than before.

Storage Auto Clean-Up

• Automatic storage clean up purges media 6 months or older or once a certain storage threshold is reached. The default threshold is set at 20% of total disk space. However, any media created within the last 14 days is exempt from deletion, regardless of the available storage space.
• This feature eliminates low storage space issues on iPads.

Spreadsheet observations can be created with a past date and the current time. When adding a spreadsheet observation:

• If the date picker label shows “Today”, the current time will be used as the Designated Time.
• If the date picker label shows a date, the specified date will be used with the current time as the Designated Time.
• If the date picker label shows a date and time, the Designated Time will match the selected date and time.

Update the minimum iOS version from iOS 13 to iOS 15

• We are updating the minimum iOS version supported by our app from iOS 13 to iOS 15. This change ensures that our users can access important updates and benefit from improvements in performance, simplicity, speed, and safety.
• **Important Note:** We strongly encourage users to update their devices to at least iOS 15. Users still on iOS 13 or 14 will miss out on crucial app updates.

New Relic Reporting for iOS Versioning Data: The versioning data captured through New Relic was previously inaccurate, but this issue has now been resolved.
